A clear document photo can be a starting point for OCR.
Keep the page flat
Photograph a flat page with the camera facing it directly. Leave the full text area inside the frame.
Use even light
Avoid glare and shadows over the letters. Check that the page is in focus before you import the image.
Keep the original image
Use the full image rather than a tiny preview or repeatedly compressed copy. Recognize the words and compare them with the source before export.
