Before you install
The app requires Microsoft .NET Framework 4.7.2 or later and Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime. Setup may need an internet connection if a required runtime is not already installed. English recognition files are included with the application.
Microsoft Word is not required to recognize text or create a DOCX. A compatible word processor is needed to open and edit the exported document.
Install and convert
- Download FreeOCRtoWord.exe, open it and follow the visible Setup instructions.
- Open the app and add your PDF or document image.
- Choose the language, run recognition and review the source beside the layout preview.
- Check pictures and table cells, correct difficult areas and export Word with layout.
Keep the original
OCR is a recognition process. Retain your original scan and check the result before relying on names, numbers or other important details.
